Entry into this interesting career can be reached via education, or on the job training.  Marketing career training will cover many areas, including product research, promotion, sales, and statistics.  If you are in product management, you help bring products from design stage to store sales.  Public relations experts are vital to businesses and government.  Publicity is another area of a marketing career where you can begin with little experience, and if you have good people skills, you can advance from a marketing assistant to a director.

Statistical analysis may be your cup of marketing tea if you are good with mathematics.  There always are programs to plan and results to analyze.  Sales figures are used for deciding if a product is successful, if it will be continued, and for overall sales representative pitches.  Behind the scenes, there are careers in marketing for office personnel, managers, and hands on creative people and designers.

Entry level jobs in a Marketing Career can be office work, sales support, production helpers, project coordinators, and researchers.  You can get into this area of work and learn, then as you gain experience and knowledge, progress to more responsibility and more money, even without a college degree.  Common sense, people skills, and timing are good qualities for success in this field.  Self learning is another method to improve your marketing skills and become more valuable to your employer.
